Okiez, this is so gg to be the last time i grunt abt the unfair promotion. thereafter, I am gg to stay strong and face the unjust.
Hving joined the board for almost 4 years, I always thought that initially, i wasnt given enough things to sell myself, n thus my low low low first year PB. I requested for more responsiblities and actually took them up, albeit against my wishes with things like arrears and such.
this year, we were supposed to be due for second advancement.
in e dept I am in, there were 6 ECPRM eligible. 1 is TO converted and not working much while 5 entered the same year as me. All were promoted except me.
In fact, out of them, I wasnt the one wif least workscope, nor m I falling THAT behind in my work. This puzzled me ALOT coz while i dint expect a promotion, I did not expect this scenario where all were promoted except me.
I asked admin, i asked my bosses... the answer I get: maybe you dint graduate from local Uni and real estate/ building.
So, I graduated from pte local uni: SIM BSc Management.
This is a deciding factor of promotion? What kind of backward system do we live in? That promotion is based on elitism? If two equally eligible person are due for promotion, the deciding factor is your certificate instead of your performance?
In my opinion, mind you, CDG, you shd hv done the sifting DURING the recruitment. once we were recruited, local or not local, you shd place us on equal platform where our bosses grade us according to performance. On what grounds do you have, that when bosses submit a list of ranking, you twist it according to your preferences, send down the listing again and ask our bosses to grade again.
WHAT TRANSPARENT SYSTEM ARE YOU TOKING ABOUT? You pride urself this year abt how clear the system is, how the staff will see exactly how your bosses deem you. bt the truth is, you just make it compulsory that bosses submit the listing to u first before they were allow to submit the grading the system to the staff before they get to see it.
how's that for transparent.
You as HR should hv been the one who safeguard the transparency, ensure no foul play was done during the grading, u are the HR that protects the staff rights. but from what I see, you are the person up there who are playing around the word elitism. So you are protecting local uni student?
What century are we living in? Elitism is the very thing that deters progress. you should allow the workplace to be a competitive environment where promotions are based on performance. Why is it that technical officers who complete their university and is upgraded to officers forced to be on slower route than fresh grads? why is it that local uni students get promoted faster than non local uni students even if non local uni students are performing just as good, if not better? Why is it that real estate uni students getting promoted faster than other students just bcoz they have a more relevant degree in HDB?
All these are sth u need to reflect CDG. You are the very people who make the system so unfair, that if i grab anyone in e company, they can tell me the same thing. U tell me there are other non-local uni students getting promoted. Yes, but that's if their depts have REALLY bad local uni students wif bad gradings huh? If we are in an equally competitive platform, n if the non local uni student has slightly better standing or ranking than that local uni student, see what you have done? you re-ranked them before sending your "elit" ranking to our bosses and ask them grade again.
Oh! how just is our system. So what's the point of you hving seminars and happily saying abt transparency?? you are not transparent at all.
You deserved to be known. You are giving the system a bad name.
